So I got my Sparkster model textured. Had a lot of fun updating his look a tad. Drew inspiration (and used 'em for reference) for the armor from the White Knight in White Knight Chronicles and also the enemies in Sonic & the Black Knight. Also drew inspiration for Sparkster's sword from that game. However, the colors remain true to Sparkster's 16-bit roots, and while they're colorful, they're darker than the original sprite. There's a nicer contrast going on - he looks fancier. Also, he looks more balanced (blue and orange are Mets colors!). Now that the armor looks like armor, and the detail's there but the color remains, I'm calling the texture done.
I really like the model, and I really like the texture. Time for skinning him for animation!
Oh, and the green mask over the untextured comparison model? That's the model for the fur shell. He still needs the fur and also a spec map for the armor. But the Diffuse map is done.
good point my man. But I ain't worried about portfolio purposes for the moment. If I was, my website would be finished I already graduated and got a job, and lost it for medical reasons. I have a lot of free time these days, so this is just for kicks.
Eventually though, I will put the wireframe renders up. I'll do a professional job.

Wow. Well done. Someone should program a game with this! Sparkster 3D for the Wii! But before you do the movie, remember that Sparkster has yellow hair.
It's not gonna matter - since I'm fur shading him, and fur is tricky (at least to first-timers), I'm basically going with whatever color the fur wants to be You can see some of the trouble I'm having with the fur in my scraps.
Though I'm working on it

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
